What is Yin Yoga?

This gentle and restorative style of Yoga comprised of mostly seated and lying postures. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues deep in the body. It explores about 8-12 postures in each class and holds these postures for an extended period of time. It is great if you are starting out due to the pace of change being slow but also suitable to those more advanced as you get to explore each asana longer, deeper and more intricately. It will set your mood on a high and leave you with a sense of floating as you leave your class. Suitable for most people. If you are pregnant or with injury please advise your instructor.

This is definitely a Yoga style fit for beginners. Yin Yoga is great way to begin Yoga practice and learn basic techniques that will help with other, more challenging styles of yoga.
